⚖️ Client-Side Terms

Welcome to 2FA-Tool.com. Before using any features, including single-code calculation, batch generation, or URL Hash auto-population, please review this Terms of Service and Disclaimer agreement carefully.

By accessing or using the Website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all terms herein. If you disagree with any portion of this agreement, please cease usage immediately.

📌

1. Nature of Service & Client-Side Architecture

This website is a free, publicly accessible cryptographic computing utility. The underlying mathematical logic strictly implements RFC 6238 (Time-Based One-Time Password, TOTP) and RFC 4226 (HOTP) international open standards.

Pure Client-Side Operation:

The tool operates entirely within your browser sandbox environment using the native Web Crypto API. The Website provides no cloud secret hosting, maintains no user synchronization database, and conducts no archival of entered secrets. Closing the page destroys all volatile session memory.

👤

2. User Safety Obligations & Mandatory Secret Backup

Two-factor authentication forms your primary defense against account compromise. When utilizing 2FA, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Mandatory Recovery Codes Backup: When enabling 2FA on third-party services (Google, GitHub, AWS, Binance, etc.), you are exclusively responsible for preserving provided Emergency Recovery Codes offline. Since we do not retain keys, we cannot assist in account recovery.
  • Terminal Device Security: You must ensure that devices used to access the Website remain free from keyloggers, screen recording malware, or malicious browser extensions.
  • Lawful Use Commitment: You agree to utilize this tool solely for accounts you legally own or are authorized to administer. Any use for unauthorized system intrusion, credential stuffing, or bypassing security controls is strictly prohibited.
⚠️

3. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

"As-Is" and "As-Available" Provision:

This service is provided on an "as-is" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a specific purpose, or uninterrupted availability.

Device Clock Drift Disclaimers:

TOTP relies on synchronized 30-second Unix time steps. If your device clock drifts by 15-30+ seconds due to lack of NTP synchronization, resulting in code validation rejection by the target platform, this is an inherent time mismatch, and we accept no liability.

Limitation of Damages:

Under no circumstances shall the operators or developers of the Website be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or special damages (including lost profits, lost data, account lockouts, or business interruption).

4. Third-Party Advertisements (Google AdSense) & External Links

The Website may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising networks (including Google AdSense) or links directing to external software portals (Google Authenticator, Bitwarden, etc.). We do not control third-party content or privacy practices. Clicking external links is an independent user decision governed by respective third-party terms.

💡

5. Intellectual Property & Open Standard Licensing

Web design layouts, original documentation, and interface elements are protected by copyright law. Cryptographic algorithmic standards belong to public domain specifications (IETF RFC 6238), and referenced open-source libraries follow their original MIT licenses.
